I'm Mike Mason, I'm a climber, mountaineer, and a climbing and mountaineering instructor (WMCI).

​

I am currently based in Lochaber, between the great mountaineering venues of Glencoe and the Ben Nevis area. Whilst I predominantly work in Scotland I have a good knowledge of the upland areas of northern England and Snowdonia, having lived climbed or worked there previously.

I have been hill walking for as long as I can remember, and took to rock climbing at a young age too. Since then mountaineering has taken me all over the UK and Europe as well as Morocco, Russia, Norway, Tanzania, the Andes, Oman and The UAE. I have been working in the outdoor industry in a variety of rolls for over ten years. I also have a degree in geology, and sometimes can't help but get excited by the cool rocks I find at the crag or out in the mountains.

I am a full member of the association of mountaineering instructors and the mountain training association, as well as an active member of Glencoe Mountain Rescue.
